Why can’t we all, all just be honest
Admit to ourselves that everyone’s on it?
From grown politicians to young adolescents
Prescribing themselves antidepressants.
Fucking love that part!

I LOVE this song and I LOVE Anne Murray.

I think this is like the cottage I’d like to live in one day.

I tuned into CBC Radio 1 this evening (well, it was actually midnight) and just caught the opening theme song of As It Happens, “Curried Soul,” by Canadian jazz musician, Moe Koffman.
It brought a wave of calm to me. I think this is because I have fond memories of listening to CBC radio most weekdays in high school while at my after-school job. I worked in the hospital pharmacy that was right across the road from my school. My shifts were from 4-8pm, and the pharmacy got pretty quiet after 5pm when most of the staff went home (there would just be three of us - a pharmacist, a pharmacy technician, and myself - from 5pm until the pharmacy closed at 8pm). I would change the station from the local “today’s hits and yesterday’s classics” one, to CBC. As it Happens was on from 6:30-8pm, giving me a more thorough look into the day’s news events.
That was a great job that I miss sometimes. Just me at the back of the pharmacy puttering away, packaging pills making dispensing easier for the nurses. It was really quiet, with just CBC Radio keeping me company, except for the occasional call from the pharmacist to ‘run’ an urgent med up to one of the floors.
Bringing it back to the feeling I got hearing “Curried Soul” tonight, I guess between Moe’s soothing jazz flute melody, and the quiet environment of that job, I felt fairly at peace most of the time, giving me lots of space to think. Those were simpler days and a job that I will always appreciate.

PREACH
I don’t normally reblog negativity to LadyxGaga, but I have a few things to say.
- Gaga was not the only person to walk away empty handed.
- Being nominated for AOTY three years in a row is an amazing feat.
- Gaga already has five Grammy Awards.
- Unlike some people, Gaga doesn’t do what she does for the money or the acclaim, she does it for her fans and because she loves to do it.
It’s pathetic how some of you are so encompassed with your hate for Gaga that you completely ignore the fact that Gaga was laying low tonight, that she wasn’t trying to make the Grammys all about her like some people. She attended the show for her fans and because she was nominated. She is okay with not winning because she knows that that’s not what truly matters.
What Gaga and “Born This Way” has done for millions of people all over the world goes above and beyond winning any sort of music-related award.
